Go for it! Give it a try. You’ll get out of it as much as you put in and you’ll meet up with lovely and interesting people!

Dan Mace

A retired corporate lawyer and a volunteer Citizens Advice Adviser, Dan has been volunteering with us for three years. He gets involved in Enter and View visits, sits on our Readers’ Panel, helps out on information stands and supports us in our engagement projects.

“I enjoy learning about health issues and listening to other people’s experiences.”

Jeni Boddy

Jeni has a background in parent and child mentoring and running literacy workshops for parents and preschool children. She’s been a volunteer for two years and takes part in Enter and View visits and PLACE assessments, as well as helping out on information stands.

“I like being part of a team with dedicated professional people who are passionate about making a difference.”

Sarah Davies

A nurse and former CEO of Dorothy House hospice, Sarah became a volunteer because she wants to make sure people who use health and social care services have a voice. She represents Healthwatch Wiltshire on local authority interview panels and comments on service specifications when contracts for services are tendered.

“You will meet a wide range of interesting people, you will be well supported by the staff and you will have a choice about what, where and when you volunteer.”

June Barnes

June’s background is working within social care, supporting people with autism or learning difficulties. She has been with Healthwatch since day one and says she enjoys being part of a team taking on a variety of roles, including Enter and View and PLACE assessments, and making phone calls from the office.

“I like meeting people of all ages and backgrounds to hear what works well for them, as well as what could – and should – improve their lives.”
