New Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre opens

The brand new Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre (TICC) opened to patients on Thursday 30th April 2026, offering state-of-the-art health and care facilities to people in Trowbridge and the surrounding areas.

Located at Hammersmith Fields, opposite the current Trowbridge Community Hospital, close to Trowbridge Health Centre, the £16 million build project, led by BSW Integrated Care Board and managed by NHS Property Services, represents a significant investment in the local NHS. Aligned to the NHS 10 Year Plan, it is designed to support more care services closer to people’s homes.

The project has been funded by NHS England, with £3 million contributed by Wiltshire Council through its Community Infrastructure Levy.

The new Integrated Care Centre will house all patient-facing services currently provided at Trowbridge Community Hospital, as well as some new services, creating a hub where teams from different organisations can work alongside each other to provide a more seamless and joined-up experience for patients.

As part of the move, the town’s Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) will relocate from Trowbridge Community Hospital to the new centre from the day it opens. The MIU will continue to be delivered by HCRG Care Group and will operate as a walk-in service, without the need for an appointment.

As now, the MIU will treat a wide range of minor injuries, such as sprains and strains, minor burns, suspected broken bones and minor head injuries. The MIU is open from 8am until 8pm, seven days a week.

Alongside the MIU, HCRG Care Group will provide a range of community health services from the site, while Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust will deliver outpatient maternity services and a range of other specialist outpatient clinics. Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust will also run sexual health clinics from the building.

Patients and visitors will also benefit from improved on-site parking, with more spaces available for both patients and staff and measures in place to help ensure spaces are available for people attending the centre.

Throughout the build process, the ICB has been out and about in Trowbridge and surrounding communities, talking to local people about the Integrated Care Centre and what matters to them.

This extensive programme of engagement included 13 drop‑in sessions and dedicated focus groups to ensure the centre’s design reflects the needs of the communities it will serve. Insights gathered from more than 250 conversations have directly shaped elements such as the waiting areas, reception layout, interior design and accessibility considerations to ensure the centre is dementia friendly and helps meet the needs of people with neurodiversity.

Speaking about the new Integrated Care Centre, Caroline Holmes, Place Director for Wiltshire at BSW ICB said:

"I am delighted that, following a successful build, we are today able to welcome our first patients to the Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre. Relocating services from the old Trowbridge Community Hospital into this new, ultra-modern building will provide a more comfortable environment for patients and staff that is fit for a 21st century NHS. The Centre is an important asset to the NHS and the local communities we serve. It will play a vital role in helping us achieve the ambition of the NHS 10 Year plan to shift more care from hospitals, closer to where people live, delivering a neighbourhood health service."

Cllr Clare Cape, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Public Health and Co-ordination with the NHS, said:

"I am very pleased that this new facility, which will provide vital health facilities for our residents, will be open from this month. I am also pleased that Wiltshire Council has been able to play its part through the provision of £3 million in Community Infrastructure Levy funding for the project. The Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre will bring a range of services together under one roof, improving access to care and helping people to get the right support at the right time, closer to home.

"This development reflects our strong partnership working with the NHS and our shared commitment to creating modern, community‑focused services that support residents’ health and wellbeing now and into the future."

Cllr Stephen Cooper, Mayor of Trowbridge said:

"The opening of this new, state of the art, Integrated Care Centre in the heart of Trowbridge is the culmination of years of planning and preparation that will now deliver a better, more joined up and more accessible service to the residents of our town. In particular, the extension of opening hours for the Minor Injuries Unit that forms part of the new Trowbridge ICC is a clear demonstration of the  effectiveness of public consultation and engagement; and we thank all those responsible, both the commissioning authorities on behalf of the NHS and the many members of the public who took part, for their involvement in this community engagement."

Andrew Strange, Estate Strategy Lead for the South for NHS Property Services said:

"We are pleased to have led the delivery of this superb new healthcare facility which will improve both patient and colleague experience. It’s a great example of how we’ve been able to support the government’s ten year health plan, helping our NHS colleagues to deliver neighbourhood health services by providing estates expertise."

Local residents are encouraged to make a note of the new location and attend Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre for minor injuries or scheduled outpatient appointments from 8am on Thursday 30 April.
